The Navagraha Temple in Dabra, India, is a unique spiritual center where devotees have the rare opportunity to worship all nine planets in a single complex. This temple is not merely a religious site, but a living example of the remarkable balance between astrology, Vastu Shastra, and science, offering devotees a path to peace, prosperity, and the alleviation of planetary afflictions.
The Navagraha Temple in Dabra (Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh) was established by the Parshuram Lok Nyas as one of the largest and most unique spiritual centers in the country. This temple is not merely a religious site but a divine energy center based on a remarkable confluence of astrology, Vastu Shastra, and science.
The main objective of this grand project is to provide devotees with the opportunity to worship all nine planets in one place, to strengthen Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism), and to establish Dabra as a prominent spiritual tourism destination in India.
The entire temple rests on 108 massive pillars. According to Hindu scriptures, there are 27 constellations in the universe, and each constellation is considered to have 4 directions:
27 × 4 = 108
This number symbolizes the complete cosmic energy and makes the temple itself a representation of the universe.
The temple is built using a combination of three major architectural styles:
Dravidian (South Indian) style
Persian influence
Modern mixed architecture
The main Sun Temple, in particular, is built entirely in the Dravidian style, making it architecturally unique.
he temple is designed in such a way that no planet’s gaze falls upon another, thus preventing any clash of their energies. This structure makes the temple a powerful center of spiritual energy.
This is possibly the only Navagraha temple in Asia where:
• Surya is present with his consorts Sanjana and Chhaya
• Shani is present with Neela Devi
• The other planets are also present with their respective consorts.
All the idols in the temple are made of Ashtadhatu (an alloy of eight metals) and special spiritual marble, crafted to correspond to the natural colors of the planets.
According to astrology, the element of water is essential for balancing the energy of the sun. For this reason, a special water system and pond have been constructed around the temple, with the water circulating around the temple.
🔹 Basement – Marble statues of the eight planets
🔹 First floor – A spacious 80×80 feet satsang hall
🔹 Second floor – Lord Surya seated with his consorts
A Nakshatra Vatika (Constellation Garden) has been developed in the temple complex, spanning approximately 9,000 square feet. It symbolizes the energy of the 27 constellations and serves as a major center for meditation and peace.
Spread over approximately 12 acres, this temple has now become the center of a new spiritual tourism circuit:
